Yang Jing 杨静
Yang Jing graduated from the High School Affiliated to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1996 and from the Mural Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. Her artistic journey has grown alongside the rise of contemporary Chinese art. As one of the earliest and most important figures involved, she formed the N12 group, one of China's earliest contemporary young artist groups, with eleven other artists from the same school. Members included internationally influential figures in the contemporary art world such as Wang Guangle, Song Kun, Qiu Xiaofei, Liang Yuanwei, and Hu Xiaoyuan. In recent years, the artist has shifted her focus to escaping the symbolic representation of painting. Behind her extremely simple creative philosophy lies an exploration of how nature and time reconstruct aesthetic experiences. Yang Jing's works have been exhibited at major art institutions and fairs both domestically and internationally, including Art Issue Projects (Taipei), Lin House Gallery (Taipei), Beijing Commune, Today Art Museum (Beijing), Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai Zendai Museum of Modern Art, Cultural Center of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai, Korjaamo Gallery (Helsinki, Finland), Heyri Art Foundation Cultural Space (Seoul, South Korea), Espacio Mínimo Gallery (Spain), Asian Contemporary Art Fair (ACAF) (New York, USA), Art Asia Fair (Miami, USA), SCOPE Art Fair (London, UK), Asian Art in London (London, UK), ARCO (Spain), Tokyo 101 Art Fair (Japan), and TCAF Contemporary Art Fair (Tokyo, Japan). Notable solo exhibitions include "Dollhouse" (Taipei), "Doll's Carnival" (Beijing), and "Doll's Carnival" (Shanghai).
