• Wu Haizhou 吴海洲

    Born in Anyang, Henan Province in 1978, Wu Haizhou is an associate professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and a teacher at the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1998 and from the Mural Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 with a master's degree. He currently lives and works in Beijing. Wu Haizhou deconstructs and expands the concepts of "landscape and plants," attempting to express the infinite within a limited plane and construct a profound inner order in his paintings. He does not rely on points, lines, and planes to construct a sense of form, but rather uses brushstrokes, colors, and shapes to express genuine experiences and feelings. When viewers face the painting, they can see both the freehand style of traditional Chinese painting and the elements in the painting existing between objects and brushstrokes—a kind of self-spiraling growth.
