Shao Wei 邵巍

Shao Wei graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in photography and digital, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany, majoring in free art. He is a visiting expert of the Image Teaching and Research Department of the School of Continuing Education of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is a special teacher at the School of Journalism and Communication of Tianjin Normal University. He has lived and worked in Germany for more than ten years. His works have been exhibited in Germany, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland and China and published in many media.

Shao Wei keeps a distance from the conceptualized society and seeks a more multifaceted way of perception. On the surface, her works start from the real world, but "art" is placed outside of these realities. As a kind of bearer, "art" carries on her thinking and expression. Therefore, she is not attracted by certain "perfect forms", but through the continuous dismantling and reconstruction of painting, video, text and other integrated media, she realizes the iteration of her personal expression logic.
